ReStore is a retail initiative by Habitat for Humanity Mississippi Capital Area, offering a unique shopping experience where proceeds support Habitat’s mission of building and renovating homes for families in need. The store features a wide variety of donated goods, including furniture, appliances, and building materials, at affordable prices.

This semester, the team conducted a comprehensive analysis of store layouts and inventory from key competitors such as Goodwill, The Salvation Army, Dirt Cheap, Repeat Street, and other ReStores. Based on this research, the team developed a detailed merchandising plan that was presented to the ReStore team. This plan included strategies for pricing, volunteer management, and optimized layouts for both the warehouse and retail spaces.

The next steps involve implementing a complete retooling of ReStore operations based on the team’s recommendations. Additionally, the team will create a robust marketing plan to boost sales and improve operational efficiency, ensuring the store’s continued success in supporting Habitat’s mission.
